“LEADER OF THE PACK” DUE TO TOP TECHNOLOGY
Already the prototype scored a European Championship silver medal before enthusing the international bike press soon after. Since then, our NINETY-SIX has been collecting several other medals and titles in rapid succession. This carbon fully is the outstanding result of latest materials and production methods. Last year, it did not only catapult MERIDA into the “Champions League” of carbon frame manufacturers, but in fact directly to the top of the genre.
The compact conclusion of MountainBike magazine (06/2008) says it all: “The MERIDA NINETY-SIX completely dominated the race fully elite right from the start. An extremely agile ultra-lightweight with outstanding sprint capability – Best in Test!” But beware: Several details of our 2010 NINETY-SIX have even been i m p r o v e d once again!
NEW FOR 2010!
Although ultra-light, last year’s DT XR carbon shock was a little hard to adjust and not optimally aligned with respect to spring characteristic curve – enough reason to replace it: All 2010 NINETY-SIX Carbon frames now feature an exclusively customized version of the new DT Swiss M210. Result: Simple functionality/setup, no bobbing even with considerably higher SAG and optimal utilization of suspension travel. Ralph Naef – MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM “techie” and one of the NINETY-SIX’s spiritual fathers – greatly appreciated the new configuration already after the first few test runs.
Second optimization: Now the MERIDA NINETY-SIX can also be ordered with a BB30 version, in addition to the current standard bottom bracket (which already scored best SGi index in German MountainBIKE magazine). This means even more pedalling efficiency – according to Ralph Naef, “less power loss is simply not possible”.
