High Speed downhill: with the patented „FLOATING-DISC“ rear-brake
system, you will never lose control. Your back wheel seems to be glued
to the ground. Total brake efficiency, totally active suspension.
„FURTHER REASONING“
A rear-brake with torsion support is nothing new.
Motorcyclists and downhillers know the functional
principle: the braking forces of the rear-brake calliper
are getting transferred through a pulling-rod to
the main frame directly. Therefore rear-wheel suspension
and disc-brake can work totally independent
from each others, without interfering with each
others functions. The suspension doesn’t become
stiff during braking anymore but stays completely
active.
The patented FLOATING-DISC system is a lot more.
Firstly it is a 10 mm thru-axle-system with closed
drop-outs. With the familiar advantages of higher
rear-frame’s stiffness and most certainly, with a precise
position of the disc rotor inside the calliper.
Due to the DT RWS-axle, mounting and demounting
of the rear-wheel can be done fast as lightning.
Fast as lightning also because the Floating-Disc
brake-anchor doesn’t disengage from the frame
when disassembling the wheel, since we locked it
over a special mount in the left drop-out. Consequently
it always stays in its position. That’s what
we call clever.
An almost neutral weight: Together with the hollow
Carbon pulling-rod, the excess weight of the complete
FLOATING-DISC system amounts to a lean 35
grams, compared to the 08 AM chainstays. This
corresponds approximately to one power bar.

The Trans Mission Carbon employs Carbon Know-
How of the highest level. It’s the same technology
we are using in the Ninety-Six as well, of whose
“Intrinsic Values” you can read more on page 9 of
this catalogue.

Carbon-Monocoque segments that get jointed to the
respectively fitting joining technique, so we can produce
them easier without any formation of wrinkles.
